The Little Prince is one of my absolute favorite childhood books, so when I saw this Little Prince wedding inspiration styled shoot I was immediately smitten. Always Flawless Productions brought all the charm to life with design and decor by Rhapsody Rentals at the beautiful Vista Valley Country Club. The blush and ivory florals by Moments in Bloom look stunning against the blue linens from La Tavola Fine Linens. The paper design from Take Note! Creations and a stunning cake by Sugar and Scribe Bakery complete the inspiration. One of my favorite details from this shoot is the amazing lighting from SociaLights that bring that element of whimsy. Your going to love seeing this classic fairytale come to life through all the pretty captured by Brit Jaye Photography.
From photographer Brit Jayne Photography, This styled shoot was originally inspired by the classic children’s book ‘The Little Prince’. We chose three quotes directly from the book to give our shoot a storyline, or concept. The story of our shoot begins with “Once upon a time, a Little Prince fell in love with a rose…” and we photographed ‘the prince’ and ‘the rose’ in their youth. Then “One day the rose lied to him, so the Little Prince left”. But “After traveling the universe and trying to cure his loneliness, the Little Prince figured out what was important in life and returned to look for his rose…” and like all the best fairy tales- this one ends in happily ever after. To illustrate the story, we printed the three quotes like invitations, and we photographed them in a way similar to something you might see in a classic fairytale. The book is set in space, so we used this as inspiration for the color palette. We used navy and gold, with lots of blush and white blooms, and fairy tale greenery. The gold long-stem roses were also inspired by the rose from the book.

From Heidi-o-photo and Style Me Pretty… Sharmini and Patrick met 10 years ago in the dorms on move-in day at UC Berkeley. Since then they’ve moved together and both gone through a lot more schooling – Patrick from MIT and Sharmini from Cornell. Now that they’re done with school they spend their time together traveling and trying new restaurants.
They chose scenic La Jolla as the destination for their wedding since many of the guests were coming in from out of town. It’s coastal views and great weather was perfect.
The wedding’s color scheme was pink with sparkles. Their venue, La Valencia, was the perfect background for their celebrations with it’s pink walls and elegant reception room. The bride started the day with a gold beaded dress and changed into a beautiful pink sari during the reception.
From the Bride… Patrick and I met in freshman year at UC Berkeley. He proposed 10 years later by a waterfall in Ithaca, NY, where I was attending graduate school. We decided to have the wedding in La Jolla, as Patrick’s family lives in San Diego. Because many of our guests were going to be traveling from Asia and the East Coast, we wanted to have our wedding somewhere beautiful that our guests would love. La Valencia is both beautiful and historic, and the service is excellent. We knew all our guests would have a fantastic time.
I wanted the wedding to be colorful and vibrant, but also glamorous and elegant. I grew up in Singapore, and I wanted the flowers to have a tropical island feel to remind me of home. Pink is my favorite color, so there were plenty of hot pink roses in my bouquet and the centerpieces. I also wanted to wear something that reflected my Indian heritage. Indian brides typically wear red and gold. I chose a gold beaded gown for the ceremony, and a pink sari for the reception. I also wore my grandmother’s antique gold necklace for the ceremony. For our favors, we put candy in little silk bags from Taiwan that were printed with the Chinese “Double Happiness” symbol.
My favorite memory from the day was the feeling of us being together with all our family, and everyone having a fantastic time. The DJ was excellent, and the food and wine were amazing. I also loved our first dance, which was to the Ramones song “Baby I Love You.” Patrick and I took ballroom dancing lessons and had a swing/foxtrot routine prepared.
My advice to brides-to-be is not to sweat the small stuff. Not everything will go as planned, and that is ok! Remember to enjoy the day, because it goes by very fast.
Erin and Andres picked these fun, bright colors inspired by Andres’ culture and the Spanish style of the beautiful Estancia Hotel. And of coarse, adding succulents was a must for most rustic Brides last year:) Thanks to Liz at wed(weddings.events.design.) their wedding came to life!!. As always, we had a ton of fun working with this couple. Big thanks to True Photography for making their wedding last forever with the gorgeous photos.
Rose and Daniel had an intimate ceremony and reception; sharing it with only their family and closest friends. Even though there were few heads to count, it was full of romance and made for a magical night. Thanks Justin and Keary Weddings for the wonderful photography. The Pacific terrace at The L’ Auberge Del Mar is by far one of the best spots in San Diego to tie the knot!
We did this wedding back in May of 2013 at one of our favorite venues, La Costa Resort. We were excited to use our new rental item…the Chandelier!! It was simple, yet very elegant and went great with our white canopy rental. Yasmin’s favorite flower was the peony, so we loaded this wedding up with different shades of pink ones:) Thanks so Lisa Marie Photography for the great shots.
We were inspired from our love of summer to do this styled shoot. Using the signature summer colors and of course the summer citrus, we created a rustic setting to enjoy with your “Main Squeeze.” Citrus accents at a summer wedding in Southern California will make your guests swoon. Thanks Teresa from Soul of Photography for the great shots!
Fun, Vibrant colors to brighten up the Poinsettia Ballroom for Easter Brunch at La Costa Resort and Spa. Gerbera Daisies were just the right flower to create this festive, bright spring atmosphere. Awesome pics courtesy of Soul of PhotographyRead More»
